Welcome to Social Studies & Religion

Hello, I am Miss. Alonso! Welcome to St. Anthony’s School, I’m a middle school Social Studies and Religion teacher and you can find me in Room 7, where you’ll come to realize that we are more than just a “classroom” but more of a family. Being able to teach students about the importance of History but also about our Religion has allowed for us to come closer and build a real community.

I discovered my passion for teaching my freshman year of college, after becoming a tutor for K-12th students. Being able to work with kids with different learning styles and different ages, really made me realize that this was something that I wanted to continue to do. I obtained my Liberal Studies degree from Stanislaus State University with a concentration in English, and a minor in History. These past two years have allowed my love/passion for teaching to continue to grow, and being able to teach our future generations has given me new perspectives, as they learn from me I learn from them and it is an amazing thing!

I am the youngest sibling/member of my family. I share the love of teaching with my older sister who happens to be a 5th grade teacher. In my free time some of my favorite things to do include reading and traveling with my family or with my friends.

Teaching at St. Anthony’s School for the past two years has been an absolute blessing. I have met the most amazing teachers and most wonderful staff. Not only has this job been a blessing but it has also amplified my passion for teaching, and I cannot wait to continue for many years to come.
